Populous has various spells and some follower types that the people in the MatchMaker don’t like using. We’ll show you how to use them to improve your game!

Invisible attackers. Cast on a spy to enter easily to the enemy base. Your enemy can’t see them until you burn a building. How to defend against? Put spies in houses. They can indentify the enemy spies and your followers can kill them.

The shaman’s magic shield. You can use your people to guard your shaman. Just press G and your followers will guard the shaman. Cast magic shield to your followers and the enemy can’t cast a spell at your shaman! How to defend against? Use swarm, swamp or hypnosis to break the shaman’s magic shield. If you have invisibility you can improve your shaman’s guardians. Cast invisibility to your followers that have magic shield. The enemy can’t see your shaman’s guardians and doesn’t realise that he needs to use swarm, swamp or hypnosis.

Kill people in boats with one spell. Killing all the people in a boat is easy. Just cast swarm at the water and the enemy followers will jump out of the boat and drown. What can you do without swarm? Just cast hypnosis at the boat and the followers will jump out of the boat.

“The shaman’s magic shield” works in a balloon. The balloon is the perfect way to move faster! Use the magic shield on a firewarrior and he can guard your shaman in the balloon. This “shaman’s magic shield” works in boats too.

Don’t fear from the Angel of Death. It isn’t an invulnerable unit. You can stop it easily. Use the ghost army to make ghost shamans or fire warriors. The AOD will kill the shaman first; then, it will go to kill the followers that attacks it. The ghost shamans and firewarriors are good for stopping it. If you don’t have ghost army there is a way to stop it. Cast an AOD. If they meet they will kill eachother. If the enemy AOD is weaker (has been hit by your firewarriors few times) yours might survive and attack.
